“This tax relief is fair and absolutely called for. I implore local officials at all levels to immediately authorize this tax relief so that our appraisal districts can begin working on this momentous task,” Senator Jackson said.

As Texans, we are blessed with a beautiful shoreline that allows citizens to enjoy many opportunities for sightseeing and recreation. And our coasts, with their many ports for fishing and shipping, provide economic stimulation to the state. While we appreciate the many benefits our coast offers, we must also prepare to face any potential dangers that come along with it.

With an international border that stretches nearly 1,240 miles and over 350 miles of coastline, Texas needs to lead the charge for border security. With this in mind, the legislature increased the funding last session for border security by $108.1 million.
